Although the Market Ignores the Clues, Major Mining Companies Are Likely Watching Very Closely!
Opinion on Recent Assays
In terms of assays, the higher the gram metres (grade in grams x metres) or percent metres (grade in percentage x metres), the better. Although the market doesn’t get excited on some assays, it is sometimes due to a failure to properly understand the potential of a certain deposit using clues from the assays.
So far, Doubleview Gold has released a few sets of assays from its record breaking 2023 drill campaign and the stock price has traded sideways.
Why I'm Excited
As a shareholder, I would have obviously preferred much higher grades. However, there are things in the recent assays that make me excited about the remainder of Doubleview Gold’s pending assays as well as its potential future.
The reason why I’m excited about what might lie ahead is due to the way porphyry deposits are formed.
In layman’s terms, a porphyry deposit can look like a homogeneous mineralized system with a “maple tree structure” inside it (a tree trunk and branches). The “maple tree” structure, which originates very deep in the earth’s crust, is the higher grade minerization of the deposit (referred to as the feeder system). Everything around the “maple tree” which is inside the deposit is the lower grade minerization of the deposit.
In the last 2 sets of assays, Doubleview Gold’s assay have returned grades as high as 2330 g/t cobalt, 18.4 g/t gold, 5.95 g/t silver (46 g/t in a previous drill campaign) & 4.42% copper (5.87% in a previous drill campaign). Regardless of the lengths, these grades are outstanding and provide valuable insight about the deposit’s potential.
In my opinion, the recently released assays from Doubleview Gold’s 2023 drill campaign have intercepted some of the “branches of the maple tree” containing the higher grades of a porphyry deposit’s feeder system.
If Doubleview Gold successfully drills into the deposit’s high-grade feeder system (maple tree’s trunk), it would result in very long intercepts of higher grades instead of very long intercepts of lower grades (inside the deposit but not inside the maple tree’s trunk).
If Doubleview Gold finds the feeder system typically associated with porphyry deposits, it will be a game changer and the market will likely take notice due to the likelihood that a major mining company will eventually want to make an offer on it.
On the other hand, if Doubleview Gold was not successful in finding the feeder system in its 2023 drill campaign, the odds of finding it increases on each additional drill campaign.
Although there is no guarantee that Doubleview Gold will find the high-grade feeder system, I believe it will due to very promising clues that indicate it is homing in on it.
